Kate Spade Inspired Room

I’m crazy about HGTV. I love the Property Brothers and House Hunters and Property Virgins and all of that. Now my constant viewing of these shows has given me tips and inspiration to do a bit of redecorating myself. But not just cleaning out the desk and closet of unused or unwanted items. No, no, that’s being done every other month. I was DETERMINED to make my room BLAND FREE. To be honest, I’m actually going for a bit of a kate spade inspired design.

I’m lucky that my mama and I share a fondness for redecorating, because she was more than happy to help me find the perfect pieces/accessories. For a few of our smaller, last-year Christmas decorations we went to Homegoods and saw the cutest wall decor that helped spread the Christmas Cheer around the whole house.

We were happy with what we found that time, so we figured that another visit to the store was going to be fruitful.

And it was. First let me show all the stuff we loved but didn’t get. (Yet!)

We did buy some hangers, a laundry basket, a nesting table, a jewelry organizer, and a wastebasket (which we bought a week later, but it’s still part of the room so that’s just water under the bridge)
Then we went to Michael’s and bought some artificial flowers to put in this little vase that I’ve been meaning to fill, and a letter (THINGY) YIKES FIX THAT.
I’m purposefully not adding pictures because like in many of the HGTV renovation shows that I watch, they save the pretty new furniture and accesories for the final reveal.

Seeing as I was too excited to take a picture before tearing my room apart the moment we got home here are a few in-between pictures.
These pictures and I assure you, that I am definitely not exaggerating.

Now for the big reveal!
I was completely finished around noon the next day. Which sounds ridiculous, but I was fine with it. Because THIS is a very big improvement.

All in all, this kate spade style redecoration costed $114.89! Which is so fantastic! I would have never thought I would find these pretty pieces like these for such great prices. Redecorating, updating, or revamping a room doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. You also don’t need to replace every piece of furniture in one go. You can go ahead and buy a new bed frame and desk and mirror one day. Then buy that gorgeous chaise and nesting table another. That way you give yourself time to really think about what pieces you want in the space, where you want to put those pieces. Not to mention the fact that you won’t feel guilty spending $500+ in one shopping trip.

I know shopping for furniture isn’t as easy or as casual as clothes shopping. Your house doesn’t have to just be the place you go to for sleep, it can also serve as a place to gather your thoughts and inspire you.
